PLASTMADE INDUSTRIES ADDS AUTOMATION

Plastmade has recently added 9 new robots to its production floor. The robots were bought in February 2009 & have been installed. The robots are all 3 axis Yushin robots which are mounted on a variety of injection presses ranging from 120 ton to 720 ton clamp. The robots are a cost effective solution & will offer Plastmade customers competitive pricing versus manually operated presses. As Plastmade further leans its operations to fuel future sales growth, the robots will become a pivotal factor in all future plans. With global molding competition, especially from China, Plastmade will reduce labor content, via increased automation, so it is prepared to compete on the global stage. While many molders are selling assets to survive the global recession of 2008/9, Plastmade is aggressively adding new accounts & automation, to prepare its operation for explosive sales growth in 2010 & beyond.

ERP

Plastmade has recently implemented a new ERP System that it has developed over the last year. The new system will better track and benchmark: machine loading, raw materials inventory, internal scrap, finished product inventory, mold maintenance, shipping schedules & invoicing. The new ERP system will improve productivity, on time shipments, inventory turns, and allow for real time tracking of production orders through the manufacturing process. All these advantages translate into greater service levels for all our customers.
